I Messed Up...

One of the hardest things for many of us to do is admit fault. No, it's not all about casting blame, but we have to learn to admit when we are wrong. Owning fault is a sign of maturity and garners respect. Think about it, what do you really think about people who blame everyone else for their behavior? Do you respect them? Do you find them likable? Nope!

Here's what to do when you mess up

1) admit that you messed you. " I made a mistake"
2) take ownership. Do not try to rationalize your mistake. Do not blame anyone else for the mistake you made.
3) Apologize for your mistake. And no, "I'm sorry you feel that way" is not an apology.
4) Ask if there is anything you can do to fix the situation.
5) Change your behavior.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
